2019 Dodge Journey
The Dodge Journey is a three-row, mid-sized SUV with a seating capacity of seven. The model comes in standard front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. There is also a choice when it comes to the engine; it comes with a 173 horsepower, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine which can be coupled with a four-speed automatic transmission or a 283 horsepower, 3.6-liter V6 with a six-speed automatic transmission.
There are three trim levels to choose from- SE, Crossroad, and GT. For the year 2019, the SXT trim level has been discontinued, and the car now comes in these three levels only. This has resulted in a greater number of features and options for the SE level which now come with an optional V6 powertrain. The front and rear ends now look even better with new fog lamps and LED taillights. The crossroad trim level has 19-inch wheels and black exterior details. The front bumper is bright chrome, and the interiors come with leather seating and steering wheels. These features have been received from the now discontinued Crossroad Plus trim, and these changes were added without a hefty bump in the price. This makes the Crossroad trim one of the best ‘buy for value’ in its segment.
Some of the other changes for the 2019 model include Standard feature foglights, 3-zone climate control, and new LED lights. The SE trim levels also get new front and rear designs. There are standard in-floor storage bins in the second row, and the second row also has a Tilt-and-Slide function. There is an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen multimedia system that is quite user-friendly. There is also a rear seat entertainment system which includes a 9-inch overhead screen.
The optional V6 engine is definitely worth the price as it provides a significant boost during most driving situations. The handling and the feel of the drive both go perfectly. The suspensions on the GT are soft enough to provide a comfortable drive on the freeway. Regarding the fuel economy, the V6 model has outperformed its EPA ratings during real-world testing. All of these amazing features along with the updated interiors and standard packages make Dodge Journey one of the best mid-range SUV in this segment.
